Off The Wall Exhibtion

Sculpture is second nature for much loved Kāpiti  artists, Storm Davenport and Rita Schrieken. Clay, wood, and pumice are skillfully brought to life with each handcrafted artwork sculpted to reveal the artist’s vision. ‘Off The Wall’ is a celebration of their design and skill.

ABOUT RITA SCHRIEKEN
Working with a variety of mediums, Raumati based Rita Schrieken designs sculptural pieces from her home based Renown Art Studio. Her work has a Pacifica feel, often incorporating found materials.

ABOUT STORM DAVENPORT
After 17 years painting, Storm Davenport began to work three dimensionally six years ago. Attending pottery classes to work through a ‘creative block’ in her painting practice, Storm is now primarily a sculptor with handbuilding being her main focus. She enjoys experimenting with firing techniques and regularly runs a range of one off and regular handbuilding clay workshops from her Paraparaumu Beach studio. Her work is available at various galleries in New Zealand and at exhibitions throughout the year.
