Kāpiti Arts Trail 2022
The Kāpiti Coast Art Trail is a vibrant annual event launched over 20 years ago, and featured more than 100 artists in 2021. This self-guided trail, which takes place over the first two weekends in November, sees artists open their studio doors and invite people in, to see not only the works they have available to purchase, but also the magic that goes into creating each unique piece.
The opportunity to visit artists in studio allows art lovers to really connect with the artists – an experience that adds meaning and depth to the art-artist-consumer relationship. It is this personal connection and the chance to choose your own journey that sees visitors returning to the Kāpiti Coast Art Trail year after year.
Artists draw inspiration from the beautiful bush-clad hills, fantastic parks and rivers, and open beaches and, of course, Kāpiti Island. Visitors can enjoy meeting our artist community and interacting with their work, as well as our wonderful natural features and great eating places and accommodation. There’s free entry to all venues, and they’re open 10am to 4pm each day during the Art Trail. Our Arts Guide also shows which artists are open year round (and their opening times), making the trail one that you can return to throughout the year.
