Free Tohorā Community Art Workshops
Join us for a free, fun adult’s workshop upcycling clean waste into a large, impressive art installation made by you, and facilitated by artist Hamish Macaulay. No prior art experience is neccessary – just a willingness to get involved and help create a powerful piece of art that will not only commemorate the 30 year anniversary of Kapiti Marine Reserve, but also highlight ways we reduce our waste and protect our waterways and coastline.
Since November we have held eight workshops with Paraparaumu School, Kapiti Art Studio, and with members of the public at workshops in Waikanae and Paraparaumu.
Final Workshops – Saturday 3 & 10 September, 1:30 – 4:30pm @Big Mac Slabs Creative Centre
Thanks to venue sponsorship from Big Mac Slabs Creative Centre, and with your help, we are hoping to paint a 10m wide ‘ocean’ and complete the last tohorā. Just two weeks later, Hamish will bring all the elements together and we will exhibit this large art installation at Kiwibank Paraparaumu. This is your chance to be part of something really special!
